The Worst Flood Since 1963
More than 18,436 people from 66 villages were evacuated to relief centres during the floods, the worst in 40 years since 1963.  The affected villages included 36 in Kuching district, 13 in Serian district, 12 in Bau district, three in Samarahan district and two in Lundu district.  A 11-year-old boy from Kampung Baru, Samarhan was drowned. There were three other flood-related deaths.
