Introduction
The Bau Civic Centre is a unique building which incoporated the cultural heritage of all the three major races in the district of Bau.The round-shape Bidayuh headhouse known as the "Baruk" on the right hand side of the picture houses a mini museum, the main hall is in Bidyuh Longhouse style, the front of the hall is decorated with an Islamic Arch, representing the Malay and Muslim community, while a pair of lions at the entrance and another pair at the Amphitheatre represents the Chinese community.  The building won the Best Instituitional Building Award in 1991, awarded by the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM).

Objective 
Housed within the Bau Civic Centre, the museum was set up in 1988 with the Objective of providing visitors with a deeper insight into the life, culture and traditions of the Bidayuh people. 

Collection/Display 
On display are various artifacts portraying various aspects of the history of the Bidayuhs and their day to day life.  These include a fascinating array of handicraft items, costumes, personal ornaments and the various objects pertaining to their religions ceremonies and daily lives.

Open: Daily 9.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. 
Closed: Fridays  Free Admission
