This mining town will join its counterparts in many other places in the state to have its own landmark symbol located at the centre of the town. The symbol will feature Bau as a gold mining town. It will also include the pitcher plant which are found in abundant in the Bau district.

Mr. Chai Min Nyiat Construction undertakes the construction of the project, while the art work is undertaken by Mr. Bong Pin Sen, the same contractor that built the nine-cat's replica in front of the Holiday Inn Hotel Kuching and the Hero Monument at the Sarawak Museum Garden.

Besides the three sculptures which also illustrated the history of gold mining. He believes that, this is the only landmark symbol among the various towns in the state that has of replica of human figures.  The three figures will be standing on three concrete slabs situated in a circular pool. Beside the three eight-footer human figures  is a rock structure which signifies the mountainous limestone terrain in the district. The round pillar will be plastered to form an artificial rock.  Above the rock structure, which is some 15 feet from the ground is a replica of a pitcher plants with 9 round bottom pitchers.

The number
"nine" is chosen as in Chinese language, the word "jiu" means long lasting. There will be water flowing out from the pitchers to the pool below and the excess water is pump up again to give a continuous flow of water. "As water also signifies wealth in the Chinese Feng Shui, the flowing water signified that the town will continue to prosper and bringing a lot of wealth to the residents here."

The landmark symbol will be beautified with lowering plants planted around the circular pool surrounding the sculpture while foot path will also be built around it so that vistors can take a closer look at the landmark symbol.
